Masterpiece Honored with 10 Emmy Nominations
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recently announced the 60th Annual (2008) Prime-Time Emmy Awards nominees, with Masterpiece receiving 10 of PBS' 33 nominations.
The nominations include outstanding miniseries, writing, art direction, casting, costumes and hairstyling mentions for Cranford, and acting nods for Judi Dench and Eileen Atkins also in Cranford. Sense and Sensibility was recognized in outstanding cinematography and music composition categories.
Winners in the craft categories will be announced at the Creative Arts Ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 13, 2008 The televised ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2008.

Derek Jacobi (I, Claudius) stars as the grandfather in this new adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel, The Old Curiosity Shop. Adapted by Martyn Hesford (Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde), and also starring Toby Jones (Infamous, The Way We Live Now) as Daniel Quilp, and young Sophie Vavasseur (Northanger Abbey) as Nell Trent.
