Under the Greenwood Tree
updated 4.17.2007

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
I loved Under the Greenwood Tree. It brings to life a very sweet love story between two people, with a little humor and a little sadness when it seems that Fancy would marry someone else. I grew up watching the wonderful shows that Masterpiece Theatre has produced and I must say that this does not disappoint. As a young person, it's nice to find something on television that stimulates the brain instead of frying it. Thank you, Masterpiece Theatre!

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
Under the Greenwood Tree is one of the best shows I've seen on Masterpiece Theatre in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed the performances and the story and want to see more period pieces like this one! Of course, with Thomas Hardy as the writer, it's hard to beat! Bravo!

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
I got home, weary and needing to relax, and turned on PBS which is usually a source of good viewing. Luck was with me for Under the Greenwood Tree was on Masterpiece Theatre. Members of my family soon joined me, cuddling up with this beautiful film. I was so impressed that I found the Thomas Hardy book at my library and have started reading it. I hope that there will be a re-showing soon.

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
I absolutely loved this movie. I think that it pictured love in is purest form. The dynamic of the movie was great and the chemistry between Fancy and Dick was spellbinding.
