Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
I, like many others here, would love to see an adaptation of Villette; in my opinion it is Charlotte Bronte's best novel.

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
Let's have Dorothy L. Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey/Harriet Vane stories redone, including Busman's Honeymoon.

Caroline Elia
Provo, UT

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
I love watching Masterpiece Theatre; no one does period films better. I wish you would do a Georgette Heyer book. I love her stories and I think they would transfer well to film.

Erin Herndobler
Medford, OR

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
It would be absolutely wonderful if Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South were aired. Thank you!

Amelia Ashford
Redondo Beach, CA

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
I loved The Virgin Queen! Please, please do more shows about the Tudor period! More shows about the Tudor period! Subject ideas: Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury; Mary Queen of Scots; Catherine de' Medici; Diane de Poitiers; Katherine Parr; Lady Jane Grey; Catherine of Aragon; Kate Ashley; King Henry VIII's sisters; and Mary Boleyn.

Rebecca Adams

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
It would be interesting if Masterpiece Theatre could do a story about Nicholas II and Alexandra, the last Romanov family of Russia. Theirs was a great love story and the private life of the family is very interesting. Not many people know of their tragic story. It could be done very objectively if the plot focused on just the family. Nicholas II was a wonderful father and husband but an ineffectual ruler. He was too ingrained in his old-world beliefs of rule by divine right and too unyielding to the changing world around and ultimately to his family's tragic demise.

Dear Masterpiece Theatre,
I think The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series (by Alexander McCall Smith) would make a wonderful series for Masterpiece Theatre. All my friends who have read the book have loved Precious Ramotswe, her friends and colleagues.

Paula Weidner
Ames, IA
