Carey Mulligan had her big break playing Kitty Bennet in the screen adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen (2005).

The young actress went on to appear in another classic costume drama, Masterpiece Theatre's Bleak House in which she played orphan Ada Clare in the award-winning Andrew Davies adaptation. Other TV credits include Miss Marple: The Sittaford Mystery.
