My Boy Jack Cattrall on Kipling

Memories of Masterpiece
I grew up with Masterpiece Theatre. It was one of the shows that I was allowed to stay up late for, and I think what really got me so interested was the stories were so fabulously written and beautifully acted. One of the first I remember was Elizabeth R with Glenda Jackson and then there was The Six Wives of Henry VIII, of course, with Keith Michell, and I, Claudius, with really wonderful actors like Sian Phillips and Derek Jacobi. It has always been a part of my life and my family's life. I'm a real Anglophile, so these lovely stories by these great, great writers, bringing them into your living room...when I was growing up, there was no such thing as cable TV or HBO. To me, it was all about Masterpiece Theatre and it still is. They continue to bring wonderful stories to life on a very consistent basis so I will continue to be a fan.
