Born in 1926 in Lancashire, England, Frank Finlay graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He has received numerous honors for his work including Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for his role in Othello (1965) opposite Laurence Olivier. He has appeared in many other films including The Pianist, The Three Musketeers, Inspector Clouseau and Dreaming of Joseph Lees and was seen previously on Masterpiece Theatre in The Lost Prince (as Asquith) and in Prime Suspect 6. Finley was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 1984.
