A native of Glasgow, Gary Lewis is best known for his roles as Billy's father in Billy Elliot and as McGloin in Gangs of New York. He was Magior, a Druid, in Masterpiece Theatre's Warrior Queen. He plays King Hrothgar in the action-fantasy film Eragon (2006).
