Born in Ghana, West Africa, British actor Robert Bathurst moved twice during his childhood: first to Dublin, Ireland and then to England, where he attended boarding school and began acting. Studying law at Cambridge University, Bathurst joined the noted comedy group the Cambridge Footlights, performing alongside actors Emma Thompson (Song of Lunch) and Hugh Laurie. Though qualified as a barrister, he has instead made his career on the screen and stage. With numerous television and theater credits to his name, it was a regular role in the long-running British comedy series Cold Feet that earned Bathurst wider recognition. He starred as Mr. Weston in MASTERPIECE's 2010 production of Jane Austen's Emma, and appeared in the 2003 MASTERPIECE White Teeth.
