    Amy March

    The artistic and impulsive youngest daughter, Amy March has always been a character that is either loved or hated. No matter how you feel about her, there’s no denying that Amy’s creative talent and happy-go-lucky approach to life make her a force to be reckoned with.

    Kathryn Newton is known for her roles in critically-acclaimed titles such as Big Little Lies, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and Lady Bird. She can currently be seen in the blockbuster Blockers, alongside Leslie Mann and John Cena, and will soon appear in Ben is Back with Julia Roberts.

    Beth March

    Kind, tender, and gentle–the second-youngest, Beth, has lived on in the minds of Little Women fans as the most selfless March sister. Whether caring for her beloved kittens or her fellow man, Beth’s infinite compassion makes her the sister we all strive to be.

    Welsh actress Annes Elwy has appeared in King Arthur: Excalibur Rising and The Passing. In 2018, she will appear in the thriller Apostle with Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens.

    Jo March

    A longtime fan favorite, Jo March is the model for outspoken, independent, sharp-witted girls everywhere. The young author’s journey from awkward tomboy to accomplished woman has dared generations of girls to dream big, work hard, and find a happy ending apart from the Laurie in their life.

    This is newcomer Maya Hawke’s first role. In the near future, she can be seen in Stranger Things, Season 3.

    Meg March

    Ever responsible and nurturing, the challenges of eldest sister Meg are all too familiar to the “first borns” among us. Whether she’s quelling a disagreement, or mending her sister’s damaged dress, Meg’s patience is truly legendary. A bit of a romantic at heart, Meg’s dream of falling in love and starting a family seems unlikely, until she meets tutor John Brooke.

    Actress Willa Fitzgerald has appeared on primetime TV shows such as Gotham, Royal Pains, and Scream: The TV Series. She is scheduled to appear in the upcoming feature film The Goldfinch alongside stars Nicole Kidman, Ansel Elgort, and Jeffrey Wright.

    Aunt March

    Stuffy, snobby, and with a quip at the ready, the March girls’ curmudgeonly Aunt March suffers no fools. Whether she’s chiding Jo for being unladylike, or berating Meg for marrying a pauper–Aunt March knows what’s best, and she won’t let anyone forget it.

    Star of stage and screen Angela Lansbury is perhaps best known as sleuth Jessica Fletcher from TV series Murder, She Wrote, which aired for twelve seasons and brought her worldwide recognition. Some of her first film roles, Gaslight (1944) and The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945) earned her two Oscar nominations and a Golden Globe. She is scheduled to appear in the upcoming Disney film Mary Poppins Returns, starring Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep.

    Laurie Laurence

    March family neighbor Laurie Laurence fueled the original “Will they or won’t they? “–and disappointed generations of readers in the process. The young, wealthy playboy shakes up the March sisters’ quiet existence when he arrives in Concord, prompting first crushes, deep confessions, and unrequited love.

    Before joining Little Women, actor Jonah Hauer-King appeared in TV mini series Howards End with Matthew Macfadyen. In the future, he can be seen in Ashes in the Snow, and A Dog’s Way Home, starring Ashley Judd.

    "Marmee" March

    Saintly matriarch “Marmee” March is the picture of the perfect mother–loving, patient, and always a step ahead of her girls. Despite the challenges of being a single parent during the Civil War, Marmee’s strength and conviction never falters.

    Actress Emily Watson has recently starred in The Theory of Everything and TV mini series Genius. She first rose to prominence when she played Bess in Lars von Trier’s Breaking the Waves (1996), a performance which earned her an Oscar nomination. In 2018, she will appear in a new TV adaptation of King Lear, alongside Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson.

    James Laurence

    The March family’s mysterious neighbor Mr. Laurence may seem intimidating at first, but beyond his hard outer shell of is a compassionate, generous core. Laurie’s grandfather can be uncompromising and a bit harsh, but a nostalgic piano melody or small act of kindness will bring out the best in this gentle giant.

    Michael Gambon recently starred as Winston Churchill in Churchill’s Secret, as seen on MASTERPIECE. He may be best known as Professor Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, and later Gambon starred in another J.K. Rowling story: a TV adaptation of The Casual Vacancy.
