Talking Heads 2: Miss Fozzard Finds Her Feet Airing July 1, 2001, on PBS (Check local listings.) Patricia Routledge (Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, Keeping Up Appearances) stars as a garrulous spinster who plunges feet first into a shocking relationship, in Alan Bennett's intriguing monologue, Talking Heads 2: Miss Fozzard Finds Her Feet, on Masterpiece Theatre. One of Britain's most distinguished playwrights, Bennett has exploded the old TV adage that nothing is as tedious as "talking heads" with his succession of riveting soliloquies titled just that. (Two films from the Talking Heads 1 series aired on Masterpiece Theatre in 1992.) His monologues feature gripping stories, an intensity of delivery and a mastery of humor, passion and sadness. Patricia Routledge has had an impressive career on stage, in film and television and has worked extensively in radio. Her portrayal of Hyacinth Bucket in the television series Keeping Up Appearances earned her the title of "Top Television Comedy Actress" for 1991 in England. She was voted Britain's all-time favorite actress in 1996. Routledge is also known for her work in her friend Bennett's plays, including A Woman of No Importance (1982) and A Lady of Letters (1988), both of which he wrote especially for her.
