Ruben Maze is the leader of a gang who uses the old Dinetah Paint factory as its hang out. His character is new to the story, appearing in the screenplay but not the book.

Up-and-coming Native American actor Noah Watts portrayed Mogie Yellow Lodge's teenage son Herbie in the independent film Skins, directed by Chris Eyre. He has also appeared in The Slaughter Rule and numerous stage productions.
