To escape his unruly and often intoxicated father, Tommy Nakai has begun running with Ruben Maze and his gang over at the Dinetah Paint factory. His character is new to the story, appearing in the screenplay but not the book.

Actor Nicholas Bartolo has appeared in a television commercial and on stage. This is his first film.
