The Body in the Library Airing Sundays, June 5 + 12, 2005 on PBS (Check local listings; dates and times may vary) Quite beautifully done... Geraldine McEwan is vivid (and) Joanna Lumley... supports like a sequinned bra! -- The Guardian A gorgeous blonde turns up dead in the most unlikely place: the library of the irreproachable Colonel Arthur Bantry and his vivacious wife, Dolly. Dolly calls her friend Miss Marple, and together they begin an investigation. And less expertly, so does Chief Constable Melchet. The victim is identified as a dancer at a nearby resort hotel, where morose millionaire Conway Jefferson had befriended her and made her his heir. Suspicion falls on Jefferson's jealous family, including son-in-law Mark and daughter-in-law Adelaide. Also under suspicion is local Lothario Basil Blake, not to mention sleazy Raymond Starr, the victim's dance partner. It takes Miss Marple to sort out the steps. Geraldine McEwan is joined by an impressive cast in The Body in the Library including Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous, Ella Enchanted), Simon Callow (Shakespeare in Love, Four Weddings and a Funeral), Tara Fitzgerald (Brassed Off, Sirens), Ian Richardson (Brazil, From Hell, Gormenghast), Adam Garcia (Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Coyote Ugly), Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean, Coupling) and Ben Miller (Malice Aforethought).
