The Remorseful Day (February 22) concludes 13 years of Inspector Morse with a case that recapitulates all the themes in the great detective's life: exquisite excess, unrequited love, and unerring instinct for solving crimes and crossword puzzles. This time out, Morse (John Thaw) is so emotionally involved with the murder victim that Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately) is assigned the case. But Morse follows his every move, leading his friend and protégé past three more corpses to the answer to this final riddle.
