Our GEM eL fits the needs for a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) perfectly. We haggle over who gets to drive it to the market, to work, and to take our dogs to the local dog park. We live in San Diego, so the "doors optional" aspect of the vehicle doesn't bother us at all. It gets as much attention as our neighbor's Ferrari, and costs a whole lot less to fill up.
