I teach a unit on ancient Greece. In conjunction with NOVA's "Lost Roman Treasure" program, I have my students create mosaics using sample paint strips that can be found at hardware stores. I think these strips are beautiful and a great free resource. Students write a historical fiction piece and put the mosics on the cover.
