Boxes of various sizes held muskets, beads, pins, combs, mirrors, rings, and various other items. Long boxes on the starboard side of the main hold contained muskets packed for the long sea journey. One box featured thousands of black, white, and blue trade beads. Another box contained brass finger rings and wooden combs, also used as trade items. Several of the boxes were removed intact and unopened for later `excavation' in the conservation lab. Some of these revealed axe heads and other trade goods, and one remains to be opened.
