Kettles, candlesticks, and ladle
Near the center, starboard side of the main hold, a set of three nested brass
kettles lay well preserved in the mud. Inside the smallest kettle was a brass
colander with holes for draining water from food, just as one might drain
noodles today. Sitting on the upper rim of the nested kettles was a small brass
bowl, while next to the kettles, a matched set of brass candlesticks and a
brass ladle rested
on the bottom of the hull.
The kettles and
colander unnested.
