Camilla Corona is the talk of the space world, having blogged and tweeted nearly every space event of note in the past three years. But unlike most spotlight-loving starlets, Camilla has the noblest of missions - and a rubber neck. Camilla is NASA’s rubber chicken mascot, and her goal it to inspire kids to take an interest in STEM subjects. That’s a mission that’s near and dear to our hearts here at Secret Life. To that end, Camilla educates her followers about the latest happenings at NASA, from their coolest missions to the latest solar eclipse.
Her next stop? The International Space Station. But first, she’s got to be trained. Astronaut Reid Wiseman is prepping Camilla for the trip, and he’s quickly learning that where Camilla goes, so goes the spotlight. Says Wiseman: “This chicken has some weird addictive quality that goes across borders and language barriers.”
When it comes to getting kids interested in science, it sounds like she’s the right chicken for the job.Waving at the Solar Eclipse
