Nate’s on the Teevee Machine

Nate on the Design Squad set So Nate Ball has enough secret lives for a laboratory full of scientists. In addition to being a mechanical engineer and an all-purpose daredevil, Nate’s also an accomplished jazz pianist, a NCAA champion pole-vaulter, and a grandmaster beatboxer.

And in his spare time, Nate hosts an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning reality series for kids called “Design Squad.”

On “Design Squad,” teams of ridiculously smart kids use their engineering skills to design and build actual products for real-world clients. And Nate guides the kids through all the steps of the process (kind of like a back flip—see below). The new season of “Design Squad” has just begun—you can find it on your local PBS station and you can check out their website.
