(K-12) These Web sites could be used with NOVA's "Killer Quake!"
program. It is hard to resist a killer quake, but proper earthquake protective techniques can help minimize its effects. You may want to incorporate information about comparative shake table tests that were done using a regular building model and of the same model with earthquake building protections developed at California State University, Northridge. See clips of the demonstrations in action at: http://www.ecs.csun.edu/~shustov/001-EPF-03.html For additional research about the projects featured in the clips at the site above and other earthquake-related research, visit: http://www.ecs.csun.edu/~shustov/CME_research.htm Sent in by Valentin Shustov California State University, Northridge Northridge, CA
