Right! Dinosaurs lived within the Mesozoic era, so rocks dating from this period are likely to contain their fossils.

diagram of mesozoic era The Mesozoic era is made up of three periods: Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. Dinosaurs appeared in the late Triassic period and died out at the end of the Cretaceous period.
