FRONTLINE Interactive Doc Wins “Best of Competition” at Banff

FRONTLINE was honored with two awards at the Banff World Media Festival — including the prestigious Best of Competition: Interactive award, for our digital documentary, Targeting the Electorate.

In addition, Targeting the Electorate won this year’s Cross-Platform Project: Non-Fiction Programs award. The interactive explores the controversial new tools used to track and target would-be voters — and donors — during the 2012 presidential campaign. It also gives users a personal experience, allowing them to find out how campaigns might have targeted them based on their political views and media usage.

The festival, which focuses on TV and digital media, brings together entertainment industry and media executives from around the world.

The interactive was produced in collaboration with Secret Location, one of Canada’s leading interactive agencies, which scored the most nominations of any other digital agency or producer at the festival. Earlier this year, Targeting the Electorate was also honored by the Webby Awards.
