Meet Frontline’s New Deputy Executive Producer
July 23, 2012, 12:23 pm ET
Five years after joining the FRONTLINE staff, Series Senior Producer Raney Aronson-Rath has been promoted to Deputy Executive Producer.
David Fanning, FRONTLINE’s executive producer, said in a memo to staff on Saturday that the move was in many ways more of a confirmation of Aronson-Rath’s success so far than a promotion. In her time at FRONTLINE, Aronson-Rath has shaped the style and content of films and tackled tough investigative journalism challenges, Fanning said. She has also managed complex partnerships with other media outlets and explored innovative collaborations online.
“As everyone knows who has worked with her, she has done it all with intelligence, grace and humor, and shown herself to be an inspiring leader, and a terrific collaborator,” Fanning wrote.
He added: “The title Deputy means someone appointed and empowered to act on behalf of another. It’s my pleasure to have her agree to do so on my behalf, and share the responsibility and privilege of guiding FRONTLINE’s present and future.”
Before she joined the staff, Aronson-Rath also produced several films for FRONTLINE, including The Jesus Factor, The Soldier’s Heart, The Last Abortion Clinic, and News War: Secrets, Sources and Spin. She has also worked at The Wall Street Journal and ABC News, and holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Read her full biography here.
