FRONTLINE Hires Yahoo! News’ Andrew GolisMarch 15, 2011, 2:56 pm ET FRONTLINE today announced it has appointed Andrew Golis as Director of Digital Media/Senior Editor, a new position designed to more effectively integrate the series’ broadcast, Web and new media initiatives and to support its ongoing effort to remake the series for the digital age. “Andrew brings a fresh perspective to FRONTLINE’s strategic thinking about our digital future,” says series senior producer Raney Aronson-Rath. “We look forward to working closely with him to re-imagine a more ‘connected’ viewing experience and to help develop the series for rich, interactive environments across platforms.” Most recently, Mr. Golis was the editor of blogs at Yahoo! News, where he was tapped to build a network of non-partisan reported blogs, bringing breaking news and original content to the site. At Yahoo!, Golis recruited an all-star team of reporter-bloggers from publications like Politico, The Washington Post and Newsweek and built a network of blogs that after just six months was already generating more than 100 million pageviews. Previously, he was the deputy publisher of “Talking Points Memo.” Mr. Golis speaks regularly on digital journalism and new business models. He graduated with honors from Harvard University with a bachelor of arts in American political history. “I believe FRONTLINE is already the most important television show in the country. But, as TV undergoes a massive digital disruption in the next few years, it has the opportunity to leverage its powerful investigative reporting and storytelling to expand its audience and impact,” says Mr. Golis. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help guide that transition.” RELATED
