[SOURCE: POLICE REPORT AND DETECTIVE RATHAUSKY'S INVESTIGATION]
In Early June, Scherbinin arrives in Prague from Moscow carrying with him two metal containers containing highly enriched uranium and the documents to prove that it is almost 88% enriched.
At about the same time in Landshut, Germany, the German undercover cops tell Niemec they have various buyers. He calls for a sit-down meeting in front of the Hotel Panorama of all parties.
The meeting happens in Prague. Dr. Vagner, Scherbinin, Niemec, Illich and the German undercover cop from Landshut are there. There is a big dispute over price. Niemec tells the Czechs that the price is in Czech crowns, not US dollars. Dr. Vagner balks and the negotiations break down.
On June 9, Neimec calls Illich. He says he's got good stuff - uranium enriched to 90% U-235. Neimec tells Illich that Dr. Vagner did the analysis and it's confirmed.
Three days later, Neimec calls Illich again and tells him a sample of the material will be coming the next day.
