Andrew Brunk Andrew Brunk recently left his position as head of the American Decorative Arts department at Christie's, New York, to return to his native North Carolina, where he rejoined his father's firm, Brunk Auctions, established in 1982. He takes with him extensive experience in the fine and decorative arts market, as well as in academia and museums.

In his role as head of the department, he was responsible for authenticating, researching, cataloging, marketing and selling American furniture at the highest level, and led the American team at Christie's in numerous record-setting sales, including several million dollar-plus objects. Prior to his five years at Christie's, he was a research associate at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where he worked on the catalog and exhibition "Worldly Goods: The Arts of Early Pennsylvania 1680-1758." He has published widely in the field, including "The Claypoole Family Joiners of Philadelphia" in the 2002 Chipstone American Furniture Journal. He graduated from Guilford College in 1990, with degrees in literature and art history, and holds a master's degree from the Winterthur Program in early American culture.

Andrew grew up in the business of art and antiques, and has more than 15 years of professional experience. In his current role as senior specialist and partner at Brunk Auctions, he will continue to consult buyers and sellers in both public and private sales, to publish, and to visit clients throughout the country.
