In 2004, he joined the auction market as head of the clock and watch department for Bonhams, Knightsbridge, and a year later moved to California to create a Watch department for Bonhams & Butterfields, auction house in the United States. After establishing himself as a respected specialist in watches, Charles joined Antiquorum Auctioneers as a director and watch expert based in California in 2008, moving to their U.S. head office in New York in 2009 to oversee North American auctions. In 2011 with an increase in demand from Asian clients, Charles relocated to become head of Antiquorum in Asia, then in 2012 joined Sotheby’s auctioneers as director and head of the Watch department in Asia. With a global appreciation of the market ,Charles remains as fascinated and driven to discover the finest watches in the world today as when he first started.
