Sarah Shinn Pratt Sarah Shinn Pratt began her career in the decorative arts in 1981 at Sotheby's in New York City, after graduating with a B.A. magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Mount Holyoke College, and receiving an M.B.A from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California in Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.).

During her twelve year career at Sotheby's, Ms. Pratt garnered and demonstrated her extensive expertise, while appraising and cataloguing an array of decorative arts. She became the Director of Sotheby's Arcade Division, a Vice President and one of the few female Auctioneers at the company at that time (1986). For eight years, Ms. Pratt wielded the hammer at over twenty-five sales a year at Sotheby's , and finally served as their Director of Appraisals, North America, before resigning in 1994 in order to start her own business.

She is now the President and Owner of Lebaron Antiques Trading based in Woodbury, Connecticut. LeBaron buys and sells decorative arts, as well as manages, brokers and maximizes the dispersal proceeds of collections and estates. Ms. Pratt has been an appraiser for Silver and Decorative Arts on PBS' popular Antiques Roadshow since the year 2000 season.
