Appraisal Transcript:
APPRAISER: We have a whole bunch of country-western signatures on this jacket.
GUEST: Yes.
APPRAISER: Can you tell me how they got on there?
GUEST: It's my mom's coat. She got it when she was young and went to a concert and had somebody sign it, and it just started from there.
APPRAISER: Okay.
GUEST: She took it to everyone and had them all sign it.
APPRAISER: Do you know some of the signatures that are on this jacket?
GUEST: Oh, yeah, she has, um, Faron Young and T. Texas Tyler. Tex Ritter. Also Ferlin Husky, Slim Whitman.
APPRAISER: Right underneath here we see, kind of hidden here, Eddy Arnold, Happy Trails, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry. Then on the reverse here...
GUEST: That's where there's a lot of good stuff there.
APPRAISER: Turn it over. Hidden underneath the fringe here, we see the best name that's on the coat here... Patsy Cline.
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: Along with Johnny Cash. You've got Rex Allen and then you've got--it appears that she got some signatures...Marty Robbins…
GUEST: Yeah, recently.
APPRAISER: ...even as of late, right? Garth Brooks and Emmylou Harris. Marty Robbins. An amazing amount of signatures on here– Patsy Cline easily the most difficult to obtain.
GUEST: Yeah.
APPRAISER: A story on this jacket is she died in a plane crash in the early 1960s. This is just amazing. I've never seen a country-western signed piece like this with this many signatures.
GUEST: I know, it's beautiful.
APPRAISER: I think that this coat would probably bring in the area of $2,500 to $3,000.
GUEST: That's good.
