Appraisal Transcript:
GUEST: The only thing I know is that it came from Germany. And my grandfather brought it back for me for my fifth birthday. And that was about 1951.
APPRAISER: Well, it's a little bit older than that. It's a Steiff bear. Margaret Steiff made bears about the turn of the century. This one is from about 1910. If you notice here, it has a button on the ear that says "Steiff." Also, what makes this one a little bit unusual is that it has straight legs. Normally, the legs are more bent like this.
GUEST: I see.
APPRAISER: A little bit of damage, but those things can be repaired. In this condition, it's worth about $1,200 to $1,500. If it was in mint condition, anywhere up to $5,000.
GUEST: Oh, wow!
APPRAISER: Thanks for bringing it in.
GUEST: Very good! Thank you very much, appreciate it.
APPRAISER: You're welcome.
