Appraisal Transcript:
GUEST: It was given to my great-great-uncle originally, in I think it was 1914 in Detroit.
APPRAISER: Let me tell you a little bit about it. It's made by Gorham, a very good American maker in Providence, Rhode Island. And this is a line they developed in 1896 called Martelé. We have the mark here for Gorham. This would have been a service plate, and it would have been part of a set, maybe of 12. I would say for the single plate here in this condition, probably auction estimate: $2,000 to $3,000.
GUEST: Great. Well, that's very nice.
