Appraisal Transcript:
GUEST: My stepfather was stationed in Japan right after World War II, brought it home, and that's all I know about it.
APPRAISER: This guy is so small and so beautifully worked. It's done in the Meiji period, from 1868 to 1912, by the Miyao factory. It produced the best mixed-metal work in that entire period. At auction, it would carry a pre-sale estimate of $2,000 to $3,000.
GUEST: Oh, that's great.
