    Appraisal Transcript:
GUEST: The basket was handed down through my husband's family in Wythe County, Virginia.

APPRAISER: What you have is a very desirable form of Wythe County basket. It's a fork handle basket, and they rarely survive. It's split oak. Oftentimes, the handles are gone. Probably was done around 1900, maybe shortly after. If we were to estimate it at auction today, I would think you'd see it between $2,000 and $3,000.

GUEST: Oh, my goodness. Oh, my, okay.
