I have had friends and loved ones "drop by" after their deaths to comfort me and let me know they are still with me, in a different way. Sometimnes in dreams; sometimes I just feel their presence and get goosebumps. But I BELEIVE THE EXPERIENCES. Jim I am a Hospice nurse. I have seen the eyes and faces of patients who see angels or get a glimpse of heaven. They remark at the beauty and peacefulness. The power of the Lord's presence at these times can be so incredible, it can knock you to your knees. Death can be, and should be a beautiful experience. It's one of the most natural things we do, we all do, but as any journey untaken, it is only human to be scared. That's were a good Hospice can help by softening the journey. I thank the Lord daily for giving me the skills, knowledge and strength to work with these beautiful people. I hope one day I can meet all my patient's at heaven's door! Denise I certainly do believe in life after death. The Bible teaches that we will live again and receive a glorious body like that of Christ. We will as the song Amazing Grace tells us . We have no less days to sing God's praise than when we first began. Time will be endless. I would like to hear well done thy good and faithful servant. Come and enter the Kingdom of God. Jerry The more deeply and authenticly I dance with God, the more I come to believe in a love that transcends death. This comes from faith, conviction, trust--I can't prove this. Mark I believe there is an afterlife. I believe it is a place where we are at peace and fellowship with God and our loved ones. I believe we will experience joy and closeness with those we love that went before us. I don't think I will have angel wings and the streets are not paved with gold, but rather I will commune with my fellow man in peace and harmony in the sight of God. If heaven exists What I most would like to hear is a chourus of "Welcome Home we have been waiting for you, and we love you" from my deceased relatives, my brother, mother and mother-in-law in particular. I would also like to hear God say to me "Nice job, you showed the world what I wanted the world to use as an example to be a good father and husband." Leslie When I reach Heaven, the highest most spiritual plane of our existence, I hope to hear the song of the angels. I hope to hear the spirits of my deceased loved ones calling to me saying, "welcome, welcome." I would want to hear the peaceful sounds of my own soul coexisting with the Lord's. When I pass on to the wondrous love of God which we call heaven, I hope to hear God echoing my own love for him which will seep from my now-peaceful soul. When I reach Heaven though, the only thing I truly hope that I hear is God asking me to stay for eternity with the gracious and kind tone I know He has. For once I hear this all rue or sorrow will then be gone and only unmatched love for my soul will remain. Tracy I really felt relieved after watching your show about death and the afterlife. I constantly think about the concept of death and it always seems to bother me. I believe in heaven and going to a future destination after my passing but there is always room for question. This question is why I get so nervous about death even though I am a teenager. Your show gave me some really deep, powerful thoughts that did in fact give me more assurance of where I am going. Brett Arriving in heaven, I would like to hear "Welcome home". Anonymous Since no one really knows what happens to you when you die-you can't be wrong. It appears to be of considerable help for people to consider what might be next after death. It may be that the future is endless and it may be well worth our while to consider what it might be. Sukie Miller I am a homemaker and I care for the elderly. I also have two parents age 76 that I care for. My dad has congestive heart failure and I am tending him. We often talk about dying and he made me promise to take care of myself and not do too much for others after he dies. I told him I would promise if he would promise me to ask Jesus into his life so he can meet me and take me by the hand when I die to the place that I am supposed to go. He said everyone has their ideas and he has his.(crusty ole guy that he is). My dad knows I have been through a lot with one child dying and another who died and went to the other side (this son came back to life to tell me the stories), and a stepdaughter who died a few years ago. After I regained sanity from my traumas, I studied many religions, philosophies, and practices I decided Jesus was for me. However, I am always open to hear everything there is to hear. So when I get to die, I want to see the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God and I want my momma and papa to pick me up and take me to the rest of my family so we can all get to know each other again in a better place than earth. Lennda My mother passed away on mothersday this year. Her death was beautiful. I was with her and helt her hand while she was passing. We played soft music with the sounds of birds chirping and waterfalls. All my brothers and sisters were there. I actually helped her to relax by talking about her favorite things in nature that she loved. That was beautiful but it even got better when she came to me in a dream and told me how proud she was of me and how much she loved me and then said thankyou for helping her pass. She told me she was at a new playground where there is no more pain. I miss her a lot but I know I will see her again.I hope when I die, I will do it as nicely as she did so everyone who is there can feel good about death and the process. Jacqueline I strongly believe in an afterlife and am not afraid of dying. I've had too many things happen that cannot be called coincidence, to confirm my belief that loved ones are on the other side and still with us. It gives me great comfort to know that when I die, my loved ones will be there waiting for me. Linda Yes, I do believe in heaven. I have alot of loved ones there and I'm sure it will be a great reunion! I believe that Heaven will be a wonderful reward for our life on earth. I don't believe that we can work our way to Heaven, but that Christ died for our sins and if we accept him then we are forgiven. I know there will be no suffering, or heart break in Heaven and it must be glorious! And I just want to hear the Lord say, Hello, my good and faithful servant. But, I do hope that God allows me a longer life and one filled with wonderful times with my family. I cherish them!! We've just buried my mother and grandmother and there is nothing like my family! Our adult children (3) all were on the west coast with me and gave me such wonderful support and love. And I think they gave wonderful peace to my mother, their grandmother, who they loved and adored. And she did them. It's been very hard but we're all facing it together. And I know that the Lord will help us thru this most difficult time. Kathy I am 52 and traveled 3000 miles last June to be with my mother in her death. I went believing she had 6 more months. She died within 24 hours and the people from Hospice sat with me and said, 'she was waiting for you" Sue I believe there is a heaven and a hell. If you are asking if there is another life we go to somewhere else and live a life all over again, I don't think it exists. I do believe heaven exists and that i will go there when I die. Upon my arrival in heaven I want to hear the words "Welcome Home". To share my story; I have lost my sister 11/11/99, my mother-in-law 4/1/00 and now have a brother with cancer. His is not terminal that we know of but just the fear of losing him is scary. My mother and one other brother however don't have the faith I have and I have difficulty talking to them at times. Just wanting to share. Would like to share stories and discussion with others. Carole Mymother never went to any religious group in 83 years. Two moths before swhe died she began to study Judiasm. My father raised us presbterian, so I am truly confused about what this meant to her. Sue Please note this area is designed as an informal discussion area.
