Grandma Reno's story......my 4th great-grandmother told of her mother being captured in an Indian raid along with her family and two daughters of the slave owner. Then her birth in Blue Jacket's Town and the family being then taken to Canada and dispersed among British Loyalists and the Shawnee Indians.

We have verified the story through documentaion found in the Draper Manuscripts, a list of slaves captured in the 24 June 1780 raid of Martin's Station, KY by the British and Native Americans, court records by the former slave owners requesting the British to return their slaves following the Revolutionary War.

Her life in Canada and eventual return to the area of her birth (Logan/Champaign Co., OH around 1813 including her families growth through Census records from 1820 until her death in 1864.
