A relative who was a slave named Milly Troup died in 1863 around the age of 15 years and was buried under an oak tree. Her grave and tombstone were cared for long after her master's death. Today the tree is 30 feet in circumference and has a canaopy that spreads over 140 feet. This grave is a known historical site in the present day. The story told is that she was the masters favorite slave and that she was poisoned.
