STORYTELLER: My research. LOCATION: Kinchafoonee, Marion, Georgia YEAR TOOK PLACE: 1832
TELLER'S PLACE OF ORIGIN: Buena Vista, Marion, Georgia HOW HEARD: Interviews

My grandma "Ludie," my father's mom, raised me and my three sisters. She never talked about her mom or any relatives. I decided to find out who we were. And my journey began. I talked to my Dad and my grandma's niece who was in her 90's. After doing extensive research I discovered that my grgrgrandparents were Henretta Rushin and Issriel Rushin. She was born about 1832, my grgrgrandad about 1830. They had six children, Nathan, Thomas, Colman, Clarisa, Ella and Brace. They were all owned by Joel F. Rushing. In the 1870 census my grgrandmother is listed as a house servant, she was 10 years old.
