I was able to track my family, who was sold in 1859 in the largest auction of slaves in the U.S. known as "The Weeping Time". My family lived on Butler's Island and St. Simon's Island, both off the coast of Georgia. The family ended up in Natchitoches Parish, LA. I was able to track the family back to the 1770s where they lived on the coastal islands of South Carolina.
