My grandfather owned practically all the business and some real estate in Earle. He owned the Heilig Funeral Home, Heilig Bus Depot, the corner store, a Hall. He was considered to be a man of prestige and of prominence in Earle. According to the current funeral home owner, the town was almost named after my grandfather.
