My Great-Great Grandfather's name was Nelson McCullum or McCullough. He married a Cherokee Indian named Eliza. Together they had eleven kids, including one son who was killed earlier in life. All of daughters looked Indian. I remember as a young girl and teenager going to West-Helena visiting them. All of them had nick-names such as: Sang, Nig, Pig, Kid, Laid. One of my great-aunts lived on the west side of chicago and use to take us to her church on Sundays. I was told by my father that Nelson had a lot of land that he owned in Mississippi that the government took away from him.
