It is through my fathers lineage, and he heard through his father. Fort Mill Plantation (Fort Mill) Clemson, SC 1830s Pendleton, South Carolina I heard it through my parents, both my father and my mother.

I heard that I was a descendant of John C. Calhoun (US Vice President) through his son Andrew Pickens Calhoun. Im an avid genealogist and I wanted to figure this out, I knew the line went back through my fathers side of the family through his mother's maternal line (Selma E. Turner) the Reid family. I found out the child who supposedly was the child of Andrew was my great great grandmother Jane (Manager) Reid. In the 1900 US Census it has her born in July 1832 in South Carolina. I do not know where she was born at the time or if she was even the child of Andrew P. Calhoun, but, I do know that the story was brought down from generation to generation. I would love it if you could help me out in anyway possible. - Yours truly Mike
