I learned it from an old cousinand my grandmother's best friend. Red Hill Community, Robertson County, Texas 1870s Robertson county,Red Hill Community, Calvert, Texas Through study, family, and county records.

I come from a family that was very prosperous for the times. They carved out a community for their people in a very racially stressed area of Texas. There is a story about two brothers who came from the Carolinas to a place called Red Hill and prospered. I have studided my family and found additional information, but I have come in contact with that famous brick wall from Emancipation to freedom. The story is of the Moody family which owns hundreds of acres of land that were bought in the 1880's and 1890's. The land that the the brothers acquired was used to build a school and a church for their family and extended family to frequent. The community was a tight knit family that has since died out and moved away, but the history of the family and the land and the church still survive and are visited every year at Homecoming for the Moody family of Calvert/ Red Hill, Texas. I am proud to be a member of this family.
