I heard this from my Daddy-Boy. Lamont, MS 1944 My father comes from Lamont, MS. This is a story that was passed down to me.

My father was born Sylvester Boson June 26th 1944 in Lamont, MS. His mother passed when he was 1 or 2 years old. He was raised by his Grand-Daddy Jackson. His grandfather was a share-cropper. His grandfather passed and he was brought to Arkansas and raised by a woman he called Mama. Her name was Callie White. White was her married name. He knew he grew up in Mississippi and in Pine Bluff, Ar and in Benton, Ar. He was drafted to the Vietnam War and found out his last name is Boson. He had used Jackson forever. A woman that he had known forever has Cousin Sane was found out to be his Grandmother. His father's mother. She explained his father was named Willie Bassey. She told him that the mid-wife that helped birth him could not get the white registered nurse to understand that his last name was Bassey and the white nurse got frustrated and named my father...Boson.

We are a family with a name that belongs to no one but us!!!!
