Father Minner Quarters 1945 New Madrid, Missouri Conversations with my father

His grandma Henrietta Minner (Henie) was of Native American heritage, he remembers she wore shoes that looked like moccasins. On the first rain of April, she would wash her hair. For what reason, he doesn’t know and never asked. I'm hoping someone that reads this story can help fill in the blanks. Grandma Henie said the Minner Quarters was where the family lived, owned schools, stores, and homes. Our family cemetery is still there; most of the land has been sold. Sorry to say, a lot of heavy farming equipment is on the land and signs posted to "keep out" http://marbley-minner.info/
