grandma South Carolina 1800s South Carolina research through and through oral history from my grandma

My grandmother told me that her father's name was Boston Keith and that his mother's name was Gracia Keith. After researching through census records on, I discovered that Gracia Keith's husband's name was Wilson Keith, born in 1827. Wilson Keith was married 3 times by the time he married Gracia Keith. Also, he was 78 when Gracia gave birth to TWINS!. He was mulatto, and could read 10 years after the end of the Civil War. Also, his name was found as being a member of the Colored Troops in the Union side of the Civil War for 8 months. I believe he may have had a part in the war because a battle was fought in North Carolina two months after he enlisted. He must have be a remarkable man.
