Aunt? Montgomery Alabama 1890s Alabama (Montgomery) Through different relatives

My father was born in 1908. He was the son of Charles and Lucille Davis. Lucille died when my dad was very young. So he and his sister lived with different aunts. None of the names I know. There was a story that my grandmother Lucille was of mixed heritage. And that her mother was raped. There was also a story of a white man named Sam in our history but I am not sure if he was the father of my grandmother Lucille or not. I have pictures of my Grandparents (both born probably 1870's or 1880's) and the resemblance of me and my grandmother are remarkable. I never met them and all I have are their pictures. My father moved from Alabama in the 50's to Chicago and then from Chicago moved to Minneapolis, where he met my mother. I hope someone will read this and maybe this story will resemble something they are also looking for.
