My name is Dayna McMullan Westbury. My family history begins with a slave named Diten who killed his slave master and fled to Cherokee territory. He joined and later married, Twin Turkey. They had a daughter, Rachael, who was sold into slavery to the son of James McMullan of Dublin, Ireland (eduated in Edinburgh, Scotland and came to America in 1782. James' son was Hugh McMullan. He had five children with Rachel and openly raised them with his own family. They even relocated with his family from Georgia to Texas. I have pictures of Rachael. Rachael Hugh had 5 children born from 1832-1929. They were named: Caroline, Jasper (my great-great grandfather), Thomas, Henry, and Betty McMullan Guess.

Every two years we have a family reunion in a different state with the descendants of the five McMullan children. My clan is the Jasper Clan.
