My great, great, great, greatgrandfather was Claude Treme, whom the Treme district of New Orleans is named for, his wife Julia Moreau was a manumitted slave from a wealthy creole family in Point Coupee Parish Louisiana. My father never knew that his great geat great grandmother was of mixed blood.
