Kenneth Bancroft Clark Encyclopedia Britannica
(Born 1914)

U.S. educator, born in Panama Canal Zone; with wife Mamie Phipps Clark (born 1917 in Hot Springs, Ark.), founded Northside Center for Child Development, New York, N.Y., 1946; professor of psychology at City College of the City University of New York 1960–75; won 1961 Spingarn Medal (‘Prejudice and Your Child'; ‘Dark Ghetto'; ‘A Relevant War Against Poverty'; ‘The Pathos of Power').
